Mary Magdalene’s Anointing of Jesus

There are varying accounts of the anointing of Jesus’ feet and head in the four gospels. We will explore the differences found between them and delve into the deeper meaning each version holds for us today.  Regardless of which gospel we reflect upon, there are intriguing questions for us to ponder. During our time together, we will break open these passages from scripture and delve into the mystery, symbolism, and meaning that invite and call us to contemplate the richness of our own faith in action. It is in the embodiment of the love and faith of this woman which touches and speaks to our own journey of faith today.

About the Presenter:

Sister Jayne Helmlinger, CSJ, is a member of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Orange. She has an academic background in business, administration, and health care mission, and a certificate in spiritual direction. Before transitioning into mission integration, Helmlinger worked 25 years as a health care executive, holding various management positions and serving on numerous Catholic health care boards. Within the Sisters of St. Joseph of Orange, Sister Jayne has served in positions related to formation, health care, and finance, and served two terms as general superior. She also served the Leadership Conference of Women Religious as a board member, president and president.
